Appliance Maintenance Company who represents MAHLKÖNIG in Australia and New Zealand participated in the Café Biz Expo in Sydney held on May 3rd and 4th 2009. In the name of MAHLKÖNIG they sponsored three different barista competitions held over the two days of the event. The K30 Twin grinders for these various competitions were put on a tough test over the two days, and performed flawlessly, with some very positive feedback from all competitors, the majority of whom had not used the grinders before.

One of the competitions was the Pura Milk Latte Art Championship, which, whilst not being Australia’s formal national Latte Art championship, is in fact Australia’s richest Latte Art championship with a $2000.00 winner’s purse, and is consequently a very hotly contested competition. Previous winners of this event have gone on to win Australias National Latte Art championships and World Latte Art championships.

This year’s winner was a girl from Melbourne called Kirby Berlin. Kirby is Australia’s current national Coffee In Good Spirits Champion, and will be representing Australia at the World Coffee In Good Spirits Championships to be held next month at your SCAE show in Cologne. We are happy to assist Kirby with her preparations for the World Championships by supplying her with a K30 Twin to practice and wish her good luck in Cologne.
